Cogent agument?
"Regulation is what caused the current crisis. It replaced a culture of conscience (“is this the right thing to do?”) with a culture of compliance (“is this within the rules?”)"

Damnbition
Saw this quote the other day written on the whiteboard at an associate's desk...
"Energy without focus dissipates into aimless busyness or wasteful failures".
-Heike Bruch
Many of us have the desire to be successful...it's almost automatic. I would still argue that for most of us, "successful" is far too ambiguous. It's much more difficult to achieve a goal if that goal is vague and underdeveloped. Find out what that goal is first...make it relevant and honest and then shoot. Work hard...but work smart.

Quote by a great economist
"The Great Depression, like most other periods of severe unemployment, was produced by government mismanagement rather than by any inherent instability of the private economy."
Milton Friedman
Now...government does some good...but whether it was the lack of oversight which encouraged greed or perhaps the failure to take proactive measures, this could have been prevented. Many say we are witnessing corporate Darwinism...More importantly, it would be great to know that we have bottomed out and the climb is imminent. What fixes this madness?
