Feist

Caught Leslie Feist in Philadelphia last night. If one has listened to anything other than her "1,2,3,4" iPod commercial song, they would probably agree that this Grammy nominated artist from Canada is on point. Her vocal quality and pitch is phenomenal. I love how she uses a loop pedal to record live raw harmony layers and then sings her main vocal over them. After finishing one piece, the lights dropped and she let the loop run for a few bars by itself...very nice! Her band members all play multiple instruments (including horns!) and pitch in on harmonies as well. The stage backdrop was a continuous projector shadow art progression run by two talented young ladies. Great show.

Michael Clayton

How much do you think you are worth?

The work and dedication; its the networking that moves you along. Do you think you can be bought? Sometimes personal standards may be outweighed by a promotional opportunities. Throughout the early stages, being a yes man sometimes seems standard in order to get to the top.

Gentrification

Merriam-Webster defines it as "the process of renewal and rebuilding accompanying the influx of middle-class or affluent people into deteriorating areas that often displaces poorer residents."
...to where?
Yeah, Gentrify, and the rationale ranges wide....the most common being "bringing taxpayers back into the cities"...for or against? I'm a bit torn and ignorant to the aggregate effect...but wouldn't pass on a vicious spot in the city.
